Yeans Halle successfully restructured under self-administration - creditors unanimously approve insolvency plan
The reorganisation of Trender Jeansmode GmbH & Co. KG, operator of the well-known fashion retailer Yeans Halle, has been successfully completed. The restructuring manager Mr Steffen Beck from PLUTA Rechtsanwalts GmbH has drawn up an insolvency plan together with the management. This plan was accepted by the creditors last week and subsequently confirmed by the court.
The proceedings can therefore be cancelled shortly by the Stuttgart Local Court. After around one year of successful business continuation, the fashion retailer will remain in existence and can conclude the reorganisation proceedings. Both the company and the legal entity will be retained, as will all of the approximately 250 jobs.
PLUTA partner Mr Beck explained, ‘We have been supporting the fashion retailer in debtor-in-possession proceedings for a year now. The fact that the creditors have now approved the insolvency plan is extremely positive. The constructive cooperation between all parties involved has paid off. This will also benefit the creditors, who will receive an above-average dividend thanks to the insolvency plan.’
Menold Bezler lawyer Dr Sebastian Mielke has been appointed as trustee to oversee the proceedings on behalf of the creditors. He welcomes the conclusion of the reorganisation proceedings: ‘Fashion retail is an industry that faces numerous challenges. Yeans Halle shows that self-administration can be a suitable instrument for repositioning the company.’
Thomas Klein has been Managing Director of Yeans Halle since September 2024. He has extensive experience in stationary retail. Horst Mühlberger, founder and shareholder, will primarily act in an advisory capacity in future.
As part of the reorganisation, three unprofitable shops had to be closed. The remaining 13 locations in south-west Germany will remain open to customers in the new year. These include Amtzell, Augsburg, Karlsruhe, Kempten, Kirchheim, Kornwestheim, Leonberg, Münsingen, Sindelfingen, Stuttgart, Ulm and Viernheim.
Trender Jeansmode is the parent company of the fashion retailer Yeans Halle, which was founded in 1977.
