MHP Arena gets new grandstand with Menold Bezler

Menold Bezler has advised Stadion NeckarPark GmbH & Co. KG on the planning and construction contract award for the new main stand of the MHP Arena, the home stadium of VfB Stuttgart. The project has been realised since June 2022 during ongoing match operations and was completed in time for the European Football Championships.

The new construction and modernisation measures also included the business centre, the team cabins, the media centre, function rooms and the "Tunnel Club". The new main stand now has 13,808 seats and the function area is EURO2024-compliant. The contract for the remodelling was awarded to the 1893 Ed. Züblin AG/ROM Technik GmbH & Co. KG. The project planning was carried out by asp-Architekten Stuttgart. EY Real Estate GmbH was commissioned as project manager.

A team led by Dr Karsten Kayser and Alexander Knodel has been advising Stadion NeckarPark GmbH & Co. KG on procurement, planning and construction law since 2019 and took over the complete contract award management. For the City of Stuttgart, which holds a 60% stake in Stadion NeckarPark GmbH & Co. KG, another team led by Dr Axel Klumpp worked on the financing agreement, the necessary contract amendments and the name change of the former Mercedes-Benz Arena to MHP Arena.
