Menold Bezler advises on award of construction contract for BioCampus MultiPilot
Menold Bezler advised Zweckverband Hafen Straubing-Sand (ZVH) on the design and implementation of various planning and construction contracts for the multi-purpose demonstration plant BioCampus MultiPilot (BMP) in the port of Straubing with a project volume of approx. 90 million euros. The BMP is being built with funding from the Free State of Bavaria.
The lighthouse project is intended to accelerate the commercialisation of sustainable products and will enable start-ups, medium-sized and large companies as well as research institutions to develop, test and optimise their industrial biotechnology processes at the BMP. In future, lignocellulosic raw materials such as straw, leaves and wood as well as residues from agricultural and food production will be used to demonstrate processes on a pre-industrial scale that produce more sustainable detergents, plastics, fuels or feedstock for the food and animal feed industry.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of the BMP was held on 29 November 2023. After the ZVH had first put out a tender for preliminary planning services for the research facility and the building, the contract for the further development of the plans and plant construction was subsequently awarded. The contract was awarded to Swietelsky AG, Glatt Ingenieurtechnik GmbH, Bioengineering AG and Schrader GmbH.
Menold Bezler advised the ZVH on the realisation of the BMP project and designed and accompanied the necessary award procedures together with ECONUM Unternehmensberatung GmbH, which provided conceptual and business management support for the project.
